Ripley is a gelding that we have had in our program for the last year and a half. He will sit like a dog, lay down on command, and has been started in liberty work. He is extremely versatile. One day, you can go rope and doctor cattle, and the next day put and English saddle on him. He also recently started in the cart, making for a fun weekend stroll. He has been a handy horse to have around, as we’ve used him to pony younger stock and problem horses in training. He has been hauled all over and trail ridden by beginners. Everyone that comes to the barn wants to ride Ripley. He is always taking care of his rider, whether it be kids, grandparents, single, double, or triple. He is soft in the face, and responsive to leg cues, but just as easily point bad go. He will side-pass over to a mounting block, rock, log, or ledge; or you can just lay him down to make mounting a breeze. He has been exposed to farm machinery, busy traffic, and gunfire and he is the same sturdy horse in new situations. He has always been the same horse with time off as he would be in a 5-day training program. For more information call Jake at 330.464.9758.
